Split Pea Soup with Oyster Crackers

Split Pea Soup

Add all ingredients to a large crockpot. (Start with 3 Cups of Water, add more if you need to as it cooks.)

Cover and cook on high heat for 4-5 hours, or low heat for 8-10 hours, until the peas are tender and have split to thicken the soup.

If you are using a whole ham, you may need to take it out and cut some of the meat off. More likely than not, the meat will fall off the bone but just be aware you may end up with some large pieces that need cut down.
