Weekly Update (April 2-5)

We are open Wednesday-Friday from 10:30am-5:30pm and 10am-3pm on Saturdays.

In the last few weeks we have restocked so much and added a ridiculous amount of items! What's new you ask? I'm glad you asked! Let me give you a rundown.

Candles: We have restocked candles and have added 4 new scents just in time for Spring!

Bath Bombs: Lots of great new scents added

Everyday Merch: Signs, Flags, Plush, Suncatchers & more including a new shipment of Atomic Fireballs, Moon Pies, Fun Dips, Cracker Jacks & Candy Cigarettes

Kitchen Items: New towels, New Aprons, New Decor

Scrub/Creams: The Scrubs have been reformulated a little and you'll find moisturizing beads in the Creams now. New Scents have been added, including a more masculine one. We have also added smaller combo packs with both Scrub & Cream together.

Wax Melts: So many great new scents are available in our 100% Soy, locally made Wax Melts.

Wax Melt Assortment: Speaking of Wax Melts...at Christmas we made variety packs as Advent Calendars. Those were incredibly popular so we decided to translate that idea into every day scents. We've called this assortment Seasons of Hope

Cuticle Oil: This project has been in the works for about 6 months and we've finally launched it! This one took awhile because the containers had to be just right, the oil had to be just right, the scents had to be just right and the price point had to be just right. (Kim's picky if you didn't know that yet!) Super excited about these very affordable Cuticle Oil Pens! We've also got super cute Nail Files to go with them.

Freshies: We are starting the update to our Freshies line. It's such a groovy idea - you pick your scent and then flip through our book of designs and pick that scent that fits you. Randy is working on making plain Freshies, but they take a few weeks to create. In the meantime, you can choose any Freshie on the shelf and replace the design. Cool, huh?

Posters: Remember having posters all over your walls & ceiling? I know I sure did! We have added a BUNCH of Vintage Posters, many of which are Black Light Posters.

ANNOUNCEMENT: After a lot of consideration, we are going to try to keep FUDGE in stock all the time now. This is our trial run and we'll see how it goes over the next few weeks, but we're pretty excited about being able to add it all the time. When you're out and about enjoying the sunshine, remember to stop in grab a treat and visit the shop.

Giving Corner

The Notus Community Historical Society is asking for help and we're happy to jump in. After saved the original Fire Station in Notus and occupying it for over 16 years as a private, non-profit museum they're losing their location. The city has determined it would be better utilized as a maintenance building. The Museum is trying to find a new location and, wherever they end up, it's going to take money. I'm certain, as are they, that they'll find a new & better location, but they're also facing storage costs. Any amount you can give would be most helpful. Please take a look at the flyer to the right to read the whole story

When you come into the Garage, you'll see a plastic collection tub on the counter where we are collecting donations for them. (Every single penny in that tub will go directly to the museum - we're keeping nothing.) In addition, we have some beautiful photo cards showcasing some of Notus that we're are donating all the proceeds from those sales to the Museum.

Also on Saturday, April 5, our friends at the Sand Hollow Community Center are holding a fun event to raise funds to do some repairs & maintenance on their 70 year old building. Chili feed start at 5 and an auction loaded with a ton of great items (including a $100 basket from us)starts around 6:30. You'll definitely want to add this to your weekend plans!

A Look Ahead

With so many new products, what could we possibly be working on next? Next on the list is an update to our mini Bath Bombs, as well as a change to the Freshies. There's always something in the works!

To help you plan ahead for treats, here's what you can expect coming up. The week of 4/9 Cinnamon Rolls. Easter Week (4/16) we will have Fudge, Carrot Cake & Dinner Rolls. I recommend placing pre-orders for this week!

Our first "show" of the year will be on Saturday April 26 at the Parma Senior Center (I'm told with a bunch of food trucks)! More info to come.

Who are we?

Kim is the "mix master" behind all of our Kandles & Wax Melts, the brain and designer of Butterfly Kisses Lotion, creator of ultra moisturizing Bath & Body Products, the mad scientist behind our Men's line, primary purchasing for all the new merchandise, the web master and about a million other things all at once.

Renee has shifted her focus to Fall with her amazing decor and she's been hard at work cranking out more Kitchen Scrubbies! Did you know she has well over 50 years experience in floral, balloons, decor and every other creative endeavor you can imagine?

Randy is the man behind our amazing and popular Car Freshies, the room sprays, air fresheners and the collectibles. He's procured some awesome garage memorabilia including from when his parents operated the garage. His various beer, Pepsi, Coke classics and selection of collectibles are unique and desirable.

Vance is a man of many ideas and he loves to see those come to life. His disabilities greatly limit what he can physically do, but on those "good days", you'll find him puttering around the shop or see him waving to passing cars on the highway. Sometimes he's out there with a sign and wild clothing to get your attention. If you see him, wave back & honk to show support of local businesses in Notus, Idaho.

Video Tour and History

What is The Notus Garage?

The Historic Notus Garage has been in Kim's family since her grandparents bought it in 1938. Originally a Wescott Oil Station, it would convert to a Conoco Station in the 40's. Kim's Grandpa, Lewis, was the only full-time, full-service mechanic in Notus (there were 7 Gas Stations at one point) & her Grandma, Helen, pumped gas and established what we'd call a "convenience store" today. Lewis passed in 1964, but you'll still find some of his treasures and keepsakes in the shop. Helen would continue to pump gas into the late 1970's/early 1980's (until gas was over $1 a gallon - the pumps didn't go above a dollar) to her loyal and much-loved customers. Over the years it has never been without a family run business of some kind in it, whether that be a retail store, a warehouse, production or a wholesale business. Kim is the third generation of Taylor's (with help from the 4th generation) to operate a business out of the Garage.

The Notus Garage is our primary brick and mortar location. We have joined cooperatively to help grow Notus' non-traditional businesses. This closed agreement will help to ensure quality products, including holiday decor, art, floral, balloons, and collectibles not limited to antiques.

Just to put this out there, (it's a question we get several times a week) we do NOT take in other consignment items.
