Butter Cookies

• 1 1/2 C. Butter
• 1 C. Sugar
• 1 Egg
• 1 tsp. Vanilla
• 1/2 tsp. Almond Extract (optional)
• 1 tsp. Baking Powder
• 1 small pkg of Dry Flavored Gelatin Mix (optional)
• 3 1/2 C. Flour

Preheat Oven to 400.

In a large bowl, beat Butter until softened. Add Sugar & beat until fluffy. Add Egg, Vanilla & Almond Extract. Beat Well.

Mix in Baking Powder & Gelatin (if using - it adds color as well as flavor to the cookies). Gradually add flour to the butter mixture, beating until well mixed.

Force dough through a cookie press onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 7-8 minutes until edges are firm, but not yet brown.
